Bride

Luke always tells this eventful story about how he "flipped me over his shoulder" but I don't remember it quite that way. Sure all the stuff about him recording me dancing is true, but I was just being nice.

I'm still sticking to my story about the first date. I thought it was supposed to be a dessert between two buddies, instead it was a date that lasted hours.  That was the beginning.

Luke came into my life when I had no desire to date anyone. I was totally content with being single and I couldn't kick him out (LOL)!  He had this energy that I was comfortable with and I wanted to be around him. In my opinion, we were always together. He was "the one" I wasn't looking for.

Groom

We met in October 2008. I had just recently moved to Philadelphia and was attending grad school at Drexel University. It was during this time that our mutual best friend and Best Man Scott Mejias came to Philadelphia to visit his friends. It was here Lisa and I would meet for the first time. It was a humorous encounter as Lisa was acting silly and unbeknownst to he, I was recording her  antics. Once Lisa discovered my video recording, she jumped on onto my back and attempted to steal my cameera. I flipped her over my shoulder and in retaliation Lisa slapped me on the butt. From there the two hit it off.

First Date…Now Lisa claims that I tricked her into our first date. I highly disagree. It was a simple nice evening to have dessert and drinks. However it wasnt until the waiter came over during our meal when I felt the sudden awkwardness of the date set in. However, that did not deter us. We ended up closing down the restaurant and talking all night.

When did I know Lisa was the "one"? I knew Lisa was the "one", after she met my family for the first time. It was not a typical meeting. During President Obama's Inaguaration in January 2009. A mini-family reunion was going to take place at my sister's house. A total of 15 people under one roof for 5 days. Cramped quarters by any means. However, Lisa came to meet everyone. And she fell right in place with everyone. And my family has loved her ever since.
