Joe and I were in desperate need of a vacation. And not just any vacation, a vacation were we got away from every responsibility in our lives (inlcuding children) and had an oppurtinity to just be us.

So, with a bit of research and a few bucks later we were on our way to Mexico, just the two of us. We traveled all day and when we finally were in our room and dropped our bags, Joe said to me,"lets go to the beach!"  He didn't have to ask twice and the first thing we did was head down to the ocean.

I swear we were not down there for more than a few minutes and I was being asked to spend the rest of my life with not just my boyfirend but, my best friend, and the father of my children. My response was.... well, do I even really need to say?? HaHa

Joe and I have been together since 2006. We have built this relationship that as been thrown at just about every hurdle one could think of. And now in Mexico we will make our commintment together legal and will be telling the world that there isn't anything that can stop us.

Ashley and I were in Mexico this past July 2011 for a random trip away from Las Vegas.  I knew that the momemt presented too good of an opportunity for me to pass up -- that opportunity you ask? Getting a chance to ask the love of my life to spend the rest of hers with me.

So, I ran to a local jeweler and grabbed the same ring in the picture Ashley is pointing to at the top of this page.  With that said, and four jewelers later, the ring was purchased two weeks before we were set to leave for our trip.  I kept the ring in my law firms safe so Ashley would not find it.

As we we were set to leave for our trip, I became concerned about getting the ring to Mexico. With no alternative, I stashed the ring in my carry-on and prayed for the best.  If I made it safely with the ring, I was planning to ask Ashley to marry me the second day we were there; however, I got so excited to be there with her (after getting there safely with the ring) that I pulled Ashley down to the beach (no one was around as it was very late at night) and asked her to marry me.

Now, we will marry in the same spot we got engaged. I look forward to making this hot-ass Minnesotan mine once and for all!!! Ash... I love you!
