Bride

Chris got to propose a day earlier than planned due to the ease and sometimes confusing mode of imessaging.

To be fair, I hadn't entirely figured out from the text messages that he sent me (but meant to send the Megs Gelfgot) that he was planning a proposal. But I was confused and starting to suspect something was up his sleeve when he suddenly appeared before me in Fountain Square.

My mom's quick iphone photography captured the moment, and the crowds went wild!  Ok I vaguely remember hearing people clap and cheer in the background.

I felt shocked - before and after - and still feel a bit dazed at the idea that we are actually going to get married.  And I am super excited to get to have a companion to love and walk beside for forever. Well for a long time anyway.

My thoroughly planned and well thought out proposal got pre-empted when I was hammering out some details the evening before and suddenly Elizabeth responded to a message meant for Megan. AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

Her family was in town for the weekend; it was going to be the perfect proposal at the Pendleton Art Center, where our glass bowls were cleverly on display (as if we were real artists), the photographer would be carefully positioned, the band would be playing, and then a surprise engagement dinner would await her with friends and family.

Instead, it was Salsa on the Square night at Fountain Square. There was latin dance music playing and Carole (her mom) took stunning photographs with her iPhone. And most important, she said yes! (well after saying, "Are you for real?").  So maybe she was a little surprised afterall...
