Bride

When Richard proposed, it came as a huge surprise to me. As many of you know, I was running my FIRST Full Marathon with a goal to qualify for Boston 2012. Well, Im approaching the 42km mark with only a short sprint to go when I see all my Running Free Friends standing close to the gantry screaming my name. So overwhelmed as Im hearing them and looking down at my watch realizing I still have 5 minutes to spare! Im excited, Im going to do it! I cross the finish and emotions wipe over me. Im exhausted, Im in pain, but Im ecstatic and glowing with joy - nothing could possibly make this day feel better....... or so I thought. I get my medal, and my post-race bag and go to change. Once I finished, I set out to find my friends; whom were all still standing near the race finish line. We talk for a little to exchange race details and then Richard suggests a team photo. I thought he was serious!!! So, Im standing there, in the middle of everyone and Richard is staring at us all... I was getting impatient, so in my head I was thinking "I just ran 42.2km could you hurry up so I can sit down!!?"... then he started speaking and I knew the words that were eventually going to come out of his mouth, but I still stood there in shock, almost like the situation was as surreal as anything. It wasn't until we were driving home that it finally clued in; "HEY... I'm getting married!!!!" :)
