Our Story

Vaughn and Dahlia met in Summer 2014 at Winstons Supperclub in Dallas, TX. Vaughn was instantly encapsulated by Dahlia’s beauty and decided to buy her a drink. They exchanged numbers but did not immediately connect with each other. Over the next year, they would find themselves bumping into each other while being out in Dallas. As they got to know each other, Dahlia found Vaughn extremely funny, outgoing, handsome, and very thoughtful. Vaughn found Dahlia to be down-to-earth, beautiful on the inside, and very sweet (but that NY attitude though?!). About a year after that, they started dating more seriously. Over the years they have become best friends and are blessed to have each other.

 

The Proposal

On his way home after a day of golf (of course), Vaughn called and told Dahlia to get dressed and pack an overnight bag. He had planned a staycation at The Joule hotel in downtown Dallas. We enjoyed a nice evening of dinner, drinks, exploring, but most importantly being in each other’s company. That next morning on Sunday, December 20, 2020, we ordered room service and while waiting, Vaughn asked Dahlia to sit on the couch at the end of the bed. He began talking about their relationship, their growth together, and their goals for the future. He then asked, ‘I wanted to know if you would be Mrs. Jackson; Will you Marry Me?’ and whipped out a big red box! Not immediately realizing what was just asked (mostly because he was talking in circles due to nerves and Dahlia was just trying to keep up with what he was trying to say) she stared in silence. Finally, after Vaughn asked ‘Well?’ and the initial shock wore off, Dahlia said YES!

We are both so looking forward to starting this next chapter of our lives together and can not wait to celebrate with our closest friends & family.
