Bride

The proposal was kinda funny! We were geared up for an action packed weekend of celebrating the 2017 Graduates.  My Mom came up to Atlanta to support Felix's son, who was graduating on Thursday. Felix had asked me about a great gift idea for my Mom. He wanted to thank her and show his appreciation for her coming to help Us celebrate this great accomplishment.  On Friday we were set to go to my Aunt's house for another graduation party. Now that I think back it was strange that my Mom kept asking me was Felix and the boys coming to the party. She knew that he worked on Friday nights. Some time during the week, I had no idea that Felix had driven to Moultrie, GA to ask my Father for my hand in marriage. He was at work, so I thought. We were all conversing with one another when Felix showed up to the party with the boys. He had flowers and a small gift bag. Of course I didn't think anything of it because I knew that he was going to present a gift to my Mom. My Mom gathered everyone and announced that Felix had something to say. He started introducing himself to my family first, like he was a stranger. He began expressing his gratitude and appreciation for my Mother. He explained that he and his son's did not have family in Georgia and he was grateful to be amongst such welcoming people. He gave me the small gift bag and asked me to help him present the gift to my Mom. He told me to remove the tissue paper and take the gift to her. Everyone was kind of having side conversations. My Grandmother screamed with joy thinking that he had announced that we had a gift for her. If you know my Granny, she loves a nice gift. That was very comical and captured on video. I began to remove the tissue paper thinking that he had bought her a pandora charm. To my surprise, it was a small teeshirt folded several times. I had a look of confusion on my face. I was thinking to myself, "why did he buy my Mom this little shirt". I went along with it and proceeded in my Mom's direction. As I was walking, I began to unfold the shirt. At this point I am upset that he would purchase a shirt that was three sizes smaller than my Mom's size. The shirt fell open facing my family. Everyone started screaming and jumping from their seats. I was thinking, "what is wrong with these people"? I had the most puzzled look on my face. I finally turned the shirt around and it read "Will You Marry Me"? After minutes of hugs and tears, my Uncle was able to calm everyone down. He calmly said " He hasn't proposed yet". Felix stood patiently waiting for the excitement to settle down so that he could complete his intended task. He then kneeled and asked for my hand in marriage.
