Akbar invited Jacqueline and Avi to Pizza after work. Jacqueline accepted the invitation, assuming they would be dining nearby. As Akbar continued to drive over the Carquinez Bridge, he announced they would be dinning in Berkeley at his favorite pizza place, Blondies (he is known for his spur of the moment adventures). After eating pizza Akbar suggested a walk through the University of Berkeley Campus. They hiked all the way to the Berkeley Rose Garden. They stopped in the University's library on the way down the hill and explored the campus. This hike became one of their fondest memories.

A little over a year later Akbar had been tirelessly trying to plan another hiking trip, Jacqueline was working on her Master's and her weekends were filled with studying. At one point the couple made it to Berkeley after church but Jacqueline made them turn back, claiming she was not prepared to hike in her church clothes.

Finally on October 1, 2016

Akbar successfully planned a hiking  trip. Jacqueline was all caught up on her homework and the couple set off for pizza and a hike. As they made it to the top of the hill, Jacqueline mentioned they had their first date at the very same place.  Jacqueline turned her back for a moment to point out a stream of water when she looked back, Akbar had fallen to one knee. The couple embraced as Jacqueline cried, and finally said, yes!
