Our Wedding

We are looking forward to a beautiful, laid-back wedding on Bahia Petempich Beach in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. We chose the Riviera Maya area because it boasts a Natural Reef for snorkeling and diving, lush jungle surroundings, archeological remains from the Mayan civilization, and its away form the hustle and bustle of Cancun. The wedding will be held at the Azul Beach Hotel. We chose this 97-room boutique resort for its spectacular private beach and all-inclusive package. The resort has 4 restaurants, 3 bars, and 3 pools (including a swim-up bar). The hotel also provides an array of activities, along with the option of a butler service while relaxing on the private beach. We have arranged for discount rates at the resort, and as a result the "It's Your Choice" promotion is no longer available. The rates for the Superior Room is $300 per night for double occupancy, while the Deluxe Room is $340 per night for double occupancy. We encourage you to reserve your rooms as soon as possible, as the Azul Beach Hotel is a popular destination during the Winter holidays.

Our Reception

The wedding attire will be smart casual (with shoes optional...) on the beach, with a beach party reception to follow. After the wedding ceremony, there will be a chance for people to take in the sights of the resort and take pictures, before heading back to the beach for the reception. This will take place on the beach, weather permitting, where everyone can enjoy a tropical sunset and listen to the sound of crashing waves while enjoying dinner and cocktails. Once the reception is complete, and the wedding cake and International Bar are exhausted, we will all move to one of the resort bars (probably the Tequila Lounge), and continue the celebrations together...

Travel Arrangements

The happy couple will be arriving in Cancun at 11.30pm on Sunday November 22, 2009, and will be staying with family in a villa in Puerto Morelos for the first 4 nights. From the 26th to 29th November we will be staying at the lovely, all-inclusive Azul Beach resort. On the 29th November we will be heading back to Denver to enjoy some time with the family in the USA. Flights should be booked to Cancun International Airport. The resort is approximately 15-20 minutes drive from the airport. Unfortunately the resort does not offer a shuttle service to or from the airport, so we are looking into taxi services or group shuttles. Once we have an idea of when people are arriving, we will have more information. We would like to remind everyone that due to new regulations, everyone traveling to Mexico now requires a passport, and the process is currently taking up to 3 months for a new issue. We encourage everyone to purchase travel insurance for the trip (this is normally an option when booking your tickets). We have been reassured that the Hurricane Season is finished by the start of November, but better to be safe than sorry. Or in case Corrie gets cold feet...hehehe...
